  • Production Supervisor – Evenings

    POSITION ATTRIBUTES:

    The Senior Production Supervisor has the responsibility to organize, direct and control production activities.  The Senior Production Supervisor oversees the activities related to completion of the day’s schedule, the return of ingredients, complete a shift report and perform an end of the shift walkthrough with sanitation supervisor. This position’s key challenge is to maintain production within specific guidelines for safety, quality, production efficiency, labor cost, product rework, waste amounts, control of on-hold product, employee training and leadership development. This position ensures compliance of all food preparation and packaging with the Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety regulations and guidelines.

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    As a Senior Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling pre-canning operations. This will also include focusing on food quality and safety. 

    Your specific duties will include:

    • Directing, and coordinating the manufacturing of products in compliance with company goals and objectives.
    • Organizing and directing workflow for satisfying production requirement in a cost-efficient manner.
    • Participating in the SQF annual audit and assisting in the development of procedures and corrective actions.
    • Supporting all facets of product quality and food safety processes to ensure that finished product meets or exceeds internal specification and State/Federal regulatory standards
    • Providing a safe and healthful work environment for all personnel through consistent support of the company’s Safety Process
    • Developing high performing work teams within the factory through coaching, training, and engaging team members
    • Managing and evaluating the Production staff, including (but not limited to) performance management and employee development
    • Establishing and controlling conditions of production to satisfy customer and quality specifications.
    • Performing other duties as assigned

    • Build Safety and health into departmental operations/procedures.
    • Instill good safety and health behavior in supervisors and employees.
    • Encourage honest analysis rather that enabling cover up problems for fear of retribution.
    • Correct what is in the system that allows or encourages people to cover up.
    • Require safe production, not production with safety as a secondary priority.
    • Encourage supervisors to properly train and coach their employees.
    • Consider safety and health as criteria when planning for facilities or equipment.
    • Participate in finding solutions for safety and health problems.
    • Reward supervisors for having meetings that solve safety and health problems.
    • Measure employees for positive safety activity and results

    TEAMWORK REQUIREMENT:

    • Builds and maintains partnering relationships with other departments and key managers

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    Education and/or on-the-job experience needed

    • Associate’s Degree in Business, Food Technology, or a related field, or equivalent related experience.
    • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory and managerial experience (preferably in a food-manufacturing environment)

    Industry-specific knowledge, skills & abilities needed

    • Food Industry 
    • Exposure to food processing systems
    • Solid financial skills and the ability to cost effectively manage department budget
    • In-depth knowledge of State and Federal rules/regulations such as EEO, OSHA, FDA, and USDA

  • Production Manager

    Job Description: Implements best practices and standards for equipment and process to promote efficient production and consistent quality of products. Maintains the facility and directs department personnel in such a way that the kitchen can produce high quality products on schedule and at minimum cost. Prepare and monitor operational budget. Manages department and personnel according to established Key Performance Indicators. Ensure food and employee safety regulation are adhere to. Preform training sessions as needed. Implement process and policies aim to reduce wastage and improve yields.  Provide the leadership and technical skills to effectively manage all Kitchen, Master Mix, Retort, Label and Casing activities. 

     

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Manage Daily Inputs and Reports 
      • Understand, communicate, and drive efficiency, yield, and implement initiative to reduce any source of wastage. 
      • Identify and communicate objectives and expectations to staff. 
      • Develop and provide training to staff with the use of tools like work instructions or visual aids.
      • Monitor pack plan attainment and help implement corrective actions for potential shortfalls
      • Monitor and implement corrective action for operational controllable holds.
      • Monitor downtime and prepare action plans to address the top three reasons identified 
      • Assign work orders and track completion rates and percentages

     

    • Process Improvement
      • Identify and Manage efficiency improvement projects thru multi-department kaizen. 
      • Identify and manage yield improvement projects in conjunction with production
      • Manage new product processes from a operations perspective.
      • Implement process to ensure accuracy on documentation for traceability purpose is maintain at all time
        • Manage proper inventory count in Nashville
    • Budgeting and Scheduling
      •  Manage spending on a monthly and annual basis utilizing SYSPRO & Net Suite accounting system.
      • Manage head count and scheduling to ensure that the shifts are staffed with the proper headcount.
      • Review monthly expenses and labor cost against budget and provide explanations/corrective for overruns.
    • Maintained competent staff in compliance with Company policies regarding personnel action/development, including the EEO policy.  
    • Ensure GMPs are followed on a daily consistent basis
    • Ensure SQF guidelines are followed consistently.  Work towards being a certified practitioner.
    • Implement actions plans and develop root cause analysis to reduce and control rework incidents, inventory and or consumer complaints.
    • Manage training process for all personnel in conjunction with Human Resources.
    • Manage necessary safety projects to ensure we are meeting OSHA code daily.
    • Perform self-monitoring sanitation, safety, and housekeeping inspections at least once a week. 
    • Fulfills other duties as requested by the EVP of Plant Operations & Director of Technical Services to ensure the production of a safe, quality product.
    • Physical Requirements: Stand/walk for long periods, Work in hot environments, and Lift 50 lbs.

  • Regional Sales Director – East

    An exciting opportunity exists to participate in the fast-paced evolution of Plant-Based Foods with Atlantic Natural Foods (ANF), the producer of iconic brands Loma Linda, TUNO, neat and Kaffree Roma. ANF is a leader in the creation of convenient shelf stable plant-based foods and seafood alternatives, healthy baking creations and non-caffeine alternative beverages with products already available in natural, grocery, club, e-commerce and export channels. We are now looking to add to the team and are searching for that unique individual to help grow our grocery retail sales in the Eastern USA.

    The Eastern Sales Dir. will be responsible for sales of ANF’s branded products to select distributors and regional retailers in both natural and conventional retail categories, with a key focus on the Eastern seaboard from Maine to Florida. This will include managing our current broker partners, and developing positive relationships with brokers, distributor teams, and account buying teams. 

    The successful applicant will be involved in the development and implementation of the company’s  natural and retail sales strategy, and as such will come with experience in food sales, account management, broker management, and experience managing key distributors such as UNFI and KeHE.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and develop a customer acquisition strategy and a go to market capability that deepens and develops ANF’s presence in the channel.
    • Ensure a best-practice approach to portfolio management, account management and new business development that improves the long-term profitability of our business.
    • Cultivate effective relationships with brokers, distributors and customers.
    • Interview, hire and manage key broker partners in Eastern US markets.
    • Manage and direct national and regional distributors’ account management and retail teams to secure new business with regional and independent customers.
    • Develop and maintain an annual business plan for key accounts and distributors outlining strategies to achieve company goals and sales targets.
    • Develop and maintain promotions, support programs and local marketing activities that position ANF appropriately in the market resulting in sales and margin growth, and increased distribution of ANF products. 
    • Collaborate with marketing on natural and retail channel strategy and the products, programs and tools required to drive profitable growth.
    • Make direct sales calls to large Natural and Conventional retail chains and attend external customer meetings to present new items, programs and review to aid business development.
    • Gain new Distribution with Natural Products Distributors according to company objectives and attend trade shows and distributor table tops and selling shows as required.
    • Increase sales revenue within the Natural and Retail channels according to company goals and expectations, while keeping within trade spend budgets.
    • Any other activities as directed by ANF leadership.

     

    Requirements & Qualifications

    • Passion to make a real change in how we eat and desire to make a difference
    • Bachelor’s degree required in Sales, Marketing or Business Administration or a related field.
    • 7+ years direct selling experience to grocery and natural retail customers and distributors and must include at least 5 years food experience.
    • Proven success building and leading branded food businesses and managing food brokers.
    • Proven track record of building relationships in the industry and leveraging same to create strategic opportunities that create long term value.
    • Ability to demonstrate execution of and achievement of plans and goals.
    • Ability to establish internal executive relationships and be viewed as a team player that works in the best interest of the company.

    • Highly competitive sales personality, with a strong sense of urgency.

  • Packer/Machine Operator

    We currently have an opening for Atlantic Natural Foods for Packers and Mixers in our Canning Department. It’s a stable and growing company with a great work environment and company culture. This is an opportunity to join their team in an important role!

    This candidate will be working in their Kitchen helping fulfill orders. Looking for candidates to pick product in a production/warehouse setting. They will be responsible for accuracy at first but then they will be held accountable to quantity. After learning to pick the product, and knowing the product – they will then learn how to pack products.

  • Sanitation Worker

    This is a 3rd Shift Position.

    Cleans and inspects all process equipment for conformity to federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards in an efficient manner.

    Cleans equipment, building, and other areas as needed

    Cleaning of equipment and work areas, to check for effectiveness of cleaning.

    Works closely with chemicals to execute operating procedures.

    Inspects premises for unsanitary practices and conditions and chemical cleaning procedures.

    Maintains a cleaning schedule to address non-routine cleaning duties.

    Regular inspections, sanitation violations, and steps taken to assist in resolving deficiencies.
