Create a luxury cafe-de-olla-style of coffee blend without any of the acid, GMOs, or caffeine by using Kaffree Roma in this recipe by Ellen Evans. Using a cinnamon stick, molasses, and aniseeds, this beverage combines the best of bitter and sweet flavors in a warm mixture that is perfect for early mornings or to pair with a dessert.
Serving Size: 1 Drink
- 1 cup Kaffree Roma
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp molasses
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3 aniseeds
- 1 quart water
Combine 1 quart of water, sugar, cinnamon and aniseed.
Bring slowly to a boil, stirring in order to melt sugar.
Stir in the Kaffree Roma, remove from the fire, cover and steep for 5 minutes. Serve when cooled enough to drink.
