Who doesn’t love Pretzel rolls! These rolls have everything you like about soft, chewy, lightly salted pretzels. What makes these extra special is the comforting and delicious Pesto FriChik stuffing making these pretzel rolls perfect to enjoy on its own or as a side.
1 can Loma Linda FriChik
1/2 cup pesto
1/2 cup cheese of your choice, grated (Daiya Foods, vegan cheese)
2 cans of pizza dough (you can also make your own pizza dough)
1 tbsp Soda bi Carb
1 Egg yolk
Coarse salt for garnishing
Preheat the oven at 375F and grease a baking sheet.
Heat the Frichik pieces in the microwave or over stove and cook for a couple of minutes. Chop up into smaller pieces.
Mix in the pesto with the chopped Frichik and keep aside.
Now, divide the pizza dough into 12 equal parts and flatten each portion.
Stuff each portion with Frichik pesto mix and add some grated cheese to it. Fold in from the sides to seal the stuffing well and form into a roll. Repeat with all the dough portions.
Meanwhile, boil 1 quart of water and once the water comes to boil, add in the soda bi carbonate.
Carefully drop the stuffed dough balls in the water and cook for a minute. Remove and lay down on the greased baking sheet.
Apply a thin coat of egg wash on each dough ball and sprinkle some coarse salt on top.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or till golden brown on top. Remove from the oven and enjoy.
