Maintenance Technician

To support the continued growth of our operations, we are looking to build out our Maintenance Team.

MAINTANENCE TECHNICIAN POSITION ATTRIBUTES:

This position is responsible for preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks. Maintenance Technicians troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, (legacy as well as modern) and ensure maximum equipment efficiency, effectiveness and reliability.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN:

  • Mechanical repairs
  • Complete Preventative maintenance duties
  • Complete relevant paperwork as required
  • Follow all GMP’s
  • Small electrical repairs and fault finding
  • Plan and manage daily maintenance operations
  • Respond quickly to repair requests from employees and management staff
  • Troubleshoot down machines and repair to meet production needs
  • Routine preventive maintenance to minimize equipment down time
  • Follow GMP’s
  • Monitor machine mechanical service levels and obtain periodic feedback about maintenance functions

SAFETY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN:

  • Follow all safety and health procedures
  • Participate in safety inspections
  • Find solutions to safety problems
  • Report a safety or health hazards to the appropriate people
  • Attend safety training
  • Attend safety meetings
  • Show new employees the safety procedures

TEAMWORK REQUIRMENTS:

  • Must be a team player

SKILLS AND ABILITIES OF A MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN:

Education and/or on-the-job experience needed

  • Requires high school diploma, or equivalent
  • Have at least 5 years Maintenance experience in a maintenance environment
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance procedures preferred
  • Skilled in mechanical repairs electrical/electronics, and plumbing as related to a manufacturing environment
  • Basic math skills required

Interpersonal knowledge, skills & abilities needed

  • Good communication skills, written and oral
  • Paying strict attention to detail
  • Must be self-motivated and seek/share improvement suggestions with Supervisor
  • Ability to troubleshoot and take corrective action
  • Good decision making ability in pressured situations
  • Ability to work assigned shift
  • Must be a team player and adhere to all safety rules
  • Knowledge of USDA, FDA, SQF and customer requirements for a food manufacturing plant, preferred
  • Excellent record required in safety, attendance, and punctuality

Technical Skills

  • Personal Computer Skills – Familiar with MS Excel and Word
  • PLC experience desirable

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $16.00 – $25.00 per hour
