We currently have an opening for Atlantic Natural Foods for Packer in our Canning Department. It’s a stable and growing company with a great work environment and company culture. This is an opportunity to join their team in an important role!
This candidate will be working in their Kitchen helping fulfill orders. Looking for candidates to pick product in a production/warehouse setting. They will be responsible for accuracy at first but then they will be held accountable to quantity. After learning to pick the product and knowing the product – Packer will then learn how to pack products.
Packer Position Attributes:
To pack formulated quantity of quality products in cans that meet or exceeds customer expectations.
Packer Job Duties and Requirements:
- Inspect product prior to packing for good quality
- Understand the difference in an A, B, and C defect
- Pack correct quantity in can
- Inspect cans for cleanliness before packing
- Practice all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment as required
- Follow all company policies and procedures
- Assure the work area is clean at all times
- Relay any concerns or issues to line operator, line operator team lead or supervisor
Other Packer Duties:
- Sort defective product as needed
- Relieve other packers as directed
- Help clear cans from line at end of shift
- Assure area is clean before leaving for break and at end of production day
- To assist in other positions where your skills will be needed, when asked by a supervisor
Packer safety duties and responsibilities:
- Follow all safety and health procedures
- Participate in safety inspections
- Find solutions to safety problems
- Report a safety or health hazards to the appropriate people
- Attend safety training
- Attend safety meetings
- Display to new employees safety procedures
Skills and Abilities:
- Basic math skills
- Minimum 1 year experience working in a factor environment (preferred)
- Good communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Understand and follow directions
- Stand for prolonged period of time
- Endure heat
- At work on time daily
- Ability to work flexible production schedule
This position is 10 hour shifts Monday-Thursday with occasional Fridays as needed for overtime.
